The Process

What to Expect

From the moment you register at Grand RoyalCare Medical, our goal is to make you feel comfortable, informed, and reassured. To help put you at ease, here’s what you can expect during your maternity journey.

01 – Registration & First Visit

Your maternity journey begins with an antenatal appointment, where we register you, review your medical history, and create a personalised pregnancy care plan. Our team also explains what to expect at each stage, offering reassurance from the start.

02 – Antenatal Care

Throughout pregnancy, you’ll attend regular check-ups for blood pressure, blood tests, and ultrasound scans. These visits are a chance to track your baby’s growth, discuss your birth preferences, and raise any questions with our midwives and doctors.

03 – Preparing for Delivery

As your due date approaches, our team provides guidance on labour signs, what to bring to hospital, and options for pain management. If a planned caesarean is recommended, we will explain the process in detail and schedule your surgery.

04 – Labour & Birth

When labour begins, you’ll be admitted to our maternity ward. Our team supports natural deliveries where possible, with pain relief options available. If complications arise, or a caesarean is needed, our theatres and surgical expertise ensure safe and timely delivery.

05 – Recovery & Postnatal Care

After birth, you and your baby are cared for in our maternity ward. Mothers receive wound care (if needed), breastfeeding support, and recovery monitoring. Newborns undergo essential health checks, with referrals available if extra support is needed.

06 – Ongoing Support After Discharge

Our care doesn’t end when you leave the hospital. Postnatal appointments are available to check healing, support breastfeeding, and monitor your baby’s growth. Families are encouraged to stay in touch and seek advice whenever needed.
